I spent the day with mom today. She called me a wimp and a Pansy because I didn't stay in the room with her when the physical therapist came in.
My stomach is weak and it is hard for me to look at the wounds on her feet and her deformed foot. I have a problem with germs. Rather than pick up her spit rags, I held a bag open for her so she could put her own Kleenex's in. I later found out from her nurse that she has MERCA, a highly contagious staph infection.
I hope mom will forgive me for being the wimp that I am! I love her regardless, even though it's hard for me to handle the medical issues.
Mom hasn't slept since Saturday. She is scared to close her eyes, for fear she will not wake up. She has a lot of pain. I pray that peace and comfort will come to her.

sad :) Her culture came back a couple of days ago--the staph infection has been cleared up.
