Birthday Gift

September 19, 2011

On September 19, 1978,  I received the best birthday gift ever.... a beautiful baby girl!  We brought Amie home from the hospital on my birthday, the 21st.  Amie and I usually spend a day together in between our birthdays.  This year we met for lunch at Subway and exchanged gifts.  Shaniel came, too.  Laughter filled much of our conversations.  I love that every year I am reminded of why MY BIRTHDAY is so special... HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMIE!

Car Accident

August 17, 2011

My poor baby!  Amie was on her way over to Parkdale to visit grandma when she had just dropped her kids off at their dad's work.  She stopped at a stop sign by Walmart and was getting ready to turn onto the highway, when a truck from behind slammed into her, smashing the trunk of the car up into the back seat.  Amie's head hit the steering wheel hard, gashing an open wound from the top of her head to just above her eye.  It tore open the skin down to her skull.  You could see her eyeball through the open wound. Although I didn't see it... my stomach is too weak for things like that.  Amie was taken by ambulance to the hospital. A plastic surgeon was called in to stitch her up.  She ended up with 4 layers of stitching.  She had 29 stitches in her top layer alone.  I hope she has a speedy recovery and quits getting into accidents!

It all started with....

Amie!

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

It was a trip to the doctor.  Vertigo kept Amie in a constant spin for two days.  Besides being dizzy, she had a migraine headache and stiff neck.  Shaniel checked her ears, and found lots of wax build-up.  Amie had blood drawn to check for thyroid problems and an MRI on her head to make sure nothing unusual was going on there.  Still haven't got to the bottom of it.  What started with Amie, went to....

Painted Furniture

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Amie came up to do all my painting projects.  I just can't seem to get enough motivation to do it. I think the whole house thing has worn me out (anyway, that's what I'll blame my lack of motivation on)!  Amie is awesome and has so much energy.  She painted the little cupboard, an old barn door (for Dave's Afghanistan locks), an end table, a bench, a shelf, and a dinning room set.... all in three days!  She left me with the distressing and antique glazing on the bench, end table, and barn door. I think I can handle that!  Audrey and I  are planning on recovering the dinning room chairs next week.
