But it did give me cause to think and I asked myself a few questions. If this were the last day as we know it, was I personally prepared to weather the looming storms? I have my 72 hour kit, readily accessible, but needs updating with new food products. My car tank is empty. I have no cash on hand. I have some storage, but not long-term storage. Although I read my scriptures daily and feel like I am learning and progressing, I'm sure I don't always recognize the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I feel I have much more spiritual growth ahead of me. I need to put in much more effort in serving, showing gratitude, humility, and recognizing the Lord's voice. I wouldn't be ready today! Looks like I have some work ahead of me.
I thought about what the most important thing in my life was. There was no doubt... Family! My children and grandchildren are my greatest treasure. I love them, every last one of them. Out of all the possessions in my life, it is family I would want to be with, take with me, if it were the last day on earth.
