Today I started a Detour Diabetes Diet. It's just a healthy way of eating. I took my waist measurements, went for a 20 minute walk, and cooked a healthy breakfast. (It's really about keeping the fat off your waist. Your waist should not be over 35 inches if you are a woman). I sauteed spinach, onions, and garlic in extra virgin olive oil, added one egg white and topped it with cheese. I ate it with a piece of wheat toast and a half cup of fat free milk. Delicious! Tip: If you love chocolate milk like I do, Nestles now makes a sugar free chocolate mix. It really does taste just as good as the sugar laden mix; it just takes a little longer to mix it in. I also converted to fat free milk. When I add the sugar free chocolate mix, it's all chocolate milk to me!
