Berries by the Basket!

September 24, 2011

Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries!  Berry season is in full swing and very popular with the customers. They can mix and match the berries, and the more they buy the more they save.  Anything left over goes in the freezer.  We all win!

Fall Flowers

September 22, 2011

First day of Fall!  Charlene, our neighbor at the Farmers Market is an artist.  Her beautiful and colorful display of flowers and heirloom tomatoes reflect the "artist" in her.  She always has a beautiful arrangement of some sort and wears a cheerful smile.  She is a good neighbor!

Bountiful Farmers Market

September 15, 2011

Audrey and I decided to sell at the Thursday's Bountiful Farmer's Market a few weeks in September.  Audrey earned much needed money for unexpected trips to Price and money to pay on her dining room table, which is on layaway.  I was able to put some money in my savings account... for the sole purpose of getting ahead of when an automatic bill comes due the first of every month.  That little bit of extra money sure helped, and besides that, we love all our loyal friends (customers) that we have made at Bountiful.

Alia showing grandma the peppers she put in the basket.  She loves to help us get ready for the Market.

Flemish Beauty

September 10, 2011

Another day at the Farmer's Market.  Dave started picking pears.  They are called Flemish Beauty.  They are much like the Bartlett, but have a rounded neck.  They are easier to bottle, but people are stuck on the traditional Bartlett.   We have noticed people slowly warming up to the Flemish Beauty this year.  It's a good thing!

Peaches

August 27, 2011

We're picking our early peaches.  They are cling stone... but that doesn't bother me or our customers.  They sure taste good!  It was nice to get back to the Farmers Market in Salt Lake.  I missed it!

Grandma Marbles

August 20, 2011

Carson's birthday is on August 23rd, but his party was today.  Mom wanted to give Carson something.  We thought about something that could be found around the house.  I suggested some marbles because Carson's favorite thing at grandma's house was the marbles and roller rack.  In fact, Carson called her Grandma Marbles.  Mom thought that was a great idea.... and so did Carson!

Farmers Market.....

Steve and Misty sold their garden fresh produce at the market today in Price.  Hailie is modeling a HUGE turnip!  I took her and Jarrett shopping for school clothes during the market.  Jarrett for his birthday coming up on September 1st, and Hailie for completing her summer school packet.  We also got her hair cut.  She wanted it cut just like grandma's.

Farmers Market

Saturday, July 16, 2011

The Market has been going for 5 weeks.  It was good to finally get to the Market today.  Because of the long, cold, wet Spring, we have not been able to harvest any fruit until now.  Dave picked the first of the apricots yesterday.  Holy Cow..... they are as big as peaches!  In fact, most people that shopped at our  stand, thought they were.

We supplemented our apricots with green beans, new potatoes, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, and beets.  It was a very good day!

We ate a steak and egg burrito at Carl's Jr. for breakfast and Chinese Buffet for dinner .... a tradition I think we are going to change up this year.

1st picking of apricots                                        Dave catches up with another Farmer
