I spent the month of November making Shutterfly Books for Christmas... hence, few pictures. But it was fun nonetheless.
November 5 - Morp
Makaela and her date Shane posing for pictures before going to Morp. Kelsey made Makaela's skirt. She wore teal and read cowboy boots to compliment her outfit. She was so cute. Her date was quite the handsome guy, too. There were a group of 10 that came up for dinner. Chad and I spent our evening in the kitchen cooking up chicken cordon bleu, baked yams, and green beans. The evening's dinner was topped off with brownie al a mode.
I loved growing up and having dance dinner's at our house. It was the place to be! And the tradition carried over to the grandkids having dance dinner's at mom and dad's house in Carbonville. Ever since those days, I've wanted a place for my grandkids to come. And they do! It makes me happy and I think they like it, too!
November 6 - It's a....
BOY!
New baby Mecham is going to be a boy! Oh boy! What fun it was for the surprise to come floating down from the balcony.
November 16 - Mom
Mom's birthday came and went this year without her here. But the memories will always live on.
Mom taught me the art of making caramel turtles, and it became a favorite tradition that I gladly embraced. I would often plan a trip to mom's before Christmas to spend a day making turtles with her. This picture was taken a few years before she passed away. Vitamins in hair and all! I sure love and miss her. She would have been 84 this year. Happy Birthday in heaven mother!
November 26 - Snow
Today we got our first snow fall. Eventhough it was a skiff, it was nice to get. Pretty!
November 27 - Sunday dinner
It was my off year for Thanksgiving dinner, but the kids wanted to get together anyway. We had our dinner on Sunday. I bought new dishes this year. I bought them at a nice discounted price. I love dishes! We all made our favorite pies to share. I was really liking the banana cream this year. We used mom's pie stacker... thanks Steven for the thoughtful gift!
November 28 - Snowstorm
It's official! Our first snowstorm of the year.
November 30 - Countdown to Christmas
Another Countdown to Christmas. This year I gathered up Christmas story books from Audrey and added a few in of my own and wrapped them, numbering them one through 25. Now, the kids can count down the days to Christmas by reading a book every day. They love books and love to read so I'm hoping this is a fun year for them.
A Fallen Officer
One of our own, officer Ellsworth from Box Elder County, was struck by a car while providing service. It was a sad day today. The streets of Brigham were lined with flags and blue ribbons.
James
Two of James favorite things to do at grandma's house. Ride the red rocking horse that great-great Grandpa Bill made and roll marbles down the roller rack. Oh... decisions, decisions! He would ride the horse for a minute, get off, and roll some marbles down the rack. And then repeat.

I like how you keep the traditions of home going. Congratulations to the Mechams.
Your pictures are all so beautiful. I loved seeing the picture of mom. I remember that day well. It was so fun. I love that your kids want to come to your house for their prom dinners. Life is hard but overall it is wonderful!
