On the Twenty Fourth Day.... Wooden Shoes

December 24, 2011

Jarrett and Alia listen to the story of the Miracle of the Wooden Shoes as they watch the German Creche move in a circle from the wind of the candles.

Kelsey, Audrey, and Steve's families, along with Chelsea and Kel, came up for Christmas Eve.  After a part German dinner, Makaela gave us an interesting report on Germany and Kelsey read the story of the Miracle of the Wooden Shoes.  Then....

A knock at the door.  The kids made a run for the door and discovered a pair of Wooden Shoes filled with peanuts, small oranges, and treats.

German Pancakes

When the kids and I lived in Logan, we had a tradition every Sunday Evening after church. I fixed German Pancakes, bacon, and oj. Afterwards, we sat down as a family and watched a Disney Movie and ate popcorn! I cherish that memory!

So today, after church, I had Audrey's family up for German Pancakes and bacon. We added grapes, bottled pears, and apple juice. Afterwards, we watched the Disney Movie Aladdin. It was fun to bring back a cherished tradition and share it with Audrey again!

Day 186 - Yearly tradition

July 5

I attended this year's Parade of Homes with Audrey and Alia. It was fun, as always, and I got some great last minute decorating ideas for the new home.
