August

August 4 - Alia's Birthday Party

Audrey gave Alia a Spa birthday party. A few of her friends came up and got mani's, foot baths, and hand and foot massages. Eye shadows and hair extensions were placed at the beauty bar for the girls to put on. They also decorated flip flops using ribbons, sequins, and flowers. The girls had plenty of beauty supplies to take home with them. Pizza was served for lunch. Ice cream and cake made the party complete. What a fun and creative party!

August 21 - Total Eclipse

I've been sick this month. I've had a bad cold and I'm sure it has gone into a sinus infection now. I wasn't sure I was up for the trip to Idaho to see the total solar eclipse of the sun, but knew it was a once in a lifetime experience that I didn't want to miss. We decided at the last minute this morning that we would go. We called to see if Brayden and Makaela wanted to go. Makaela was working, but Brayden was able to go with us. It took us a couple of hours to get to Idaho Falls. Actually, we found a road just a few miles south of Idaho Falls to go off on. We drove to a small graveled area near a small lake and parked. We watched and waited with a number of other people. The anticipation was incredible. It was both exciting and eeire as the sky darkened. We counted the minutes down to the total eclipse. When it happened, amazing things happened. The temperature dropped considerably. Enough to put a jacket on. The stars began to shine. Night time sounds became clear. It was so eeire. The sky became dark, as if it were in the middle of the night. It lasted all but a minute, but it was spectacular! I will never forget the wonder and awe of such an event. One that only God could control. It was worth every minute of it. I will never forget it.

We had no incidences of being caught in slow and heavy traffic. We left late going up. Stayed on the outskirts of town where we could make a fast get-away, and was able to get out ahead of the traffic. It was a very good day.

I did stop at Kelsey's practice in Garland and have her look at me. She told me what I suspected.... sinus infection. I was put on a round of antibiotics and now I'm hoping it will go away quickly.

August 25 - A Wedding

Thomas and Rebecca's wedding at the Salt Lake City temple. Beautiful!

Pictured left to right, standing - Carol, Kelley, Leslie. Patty is seating.

You can never get enough pictures when you get to be our age in our health. I sure do love my sisters!

August 26 - Farmer's Market

Amie, Clint, and Nicole came up today to do some school clothes shopping. They helped us sell for a few minutes. It was fun to see them.

Levi

Levi turned 4 months old this month. He loves his belly. Loves to play pat-a-cake. And has his favorite toys.

Hula Hoop

Alia and Emilee can twirl the hula hoop around their waist and hips with ease. They have this skill figured out!
