January

1 - Celebrating Two Birthdays

Two of the Mecham boys share an awesome day together... birthdays! December 31st Mike turned 33 years old. James turned 2 years old. Mike chose pudding and James wanted cake and ice cream.

We celebrated Batman's 1st birthday, too. He's the cutest black floppy eared rabbit ever! The perfect cake for him was a carrot cake.

20 - Theta Wellness Center

Amie is in treatment for an opiod addiction at the Theta Wellness Center in Provo, Utah. Dave and I checked her in and have spent the week with her, learning what we can and supporting her in the program. Some treatments include detoxification. While Amie was doing another treatment, I had a complimentary foot detox. Very nasty! I can't believe all the toxins it pulled from my body in just 20 minutes!

  29 - Steve's Birthday

It seems like yesterday I was holding my baby boy for the first time. He was born January 29, 1983, early in the morning at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah. Oh... how I loved this little man of mine! Our new little boy brought so much joy to our growing family. He was a welcome addition for his three older sisters and a much anticipated boy companion for his father. Life was full of adventure and fun with Steve. He always had us laughing with his sense of humor and off the wall sayings.

Today it's hard to think that my boy could possibly be gone. How could that light have gone out so soon? Wrong choices and sadness can affect even the best person's life. He ended his life on September 7, 2015. Labor Day. I miss him every single day. Life is not the same without him. I love him! I will see him again. I will see that the light has come back. I know he will be learning and growing and discovering. I know he has found healing. I can envision the joy he feels because he knows his divine potential! Because of the plan of salvation and the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, all things will work out. They will! I look forward to the day when I can see my son again. To look in his eyes and see the light once again. I can't wait to hug him! I am truly thankful for the our last words at parting, the last day I saw him alive.... "I love you!" It will be that way when we meet each other on the other side... "I love you!" I have no regrets. My son knew I loved him with all my heart!

We choose to celebrate our children's birth dates gathered together as a family. Two are now gone. We can't bring them back. How comforting it is to have their memories remain forever in our hearts. We know that this life is but a brief moment in the eternities and we will see them again soon.

Steve would like the meal we had today. I'm sure he was here celebrating with us! We had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, cooked carrots, green salad, and rolls. Dessert was red velvet cream cheese cookies. Happy Birthday in heaven Steve! We love you!

31 - Smarty Pants goes to Lee's Market

Grandma's get to have so much fun! Today I got to take Emilee on a field trip to Lee's Market in North Ogden. The kids were taken to all the important sections (outside perimeter) of the store. When they were at the bakery, they were taken back to see how the baking is done and all got a cookie to eat. It was a very fun and educational day. Even for grandma!

Deer in Orchard

It is fast becoming a very cold and snowy winter. The deer are coming down into the orchard every day looking for something to eat.

Wood Floor

Love, love, love the Bywater's new wood floor. Beautiful!

Record Snow Fall

Look at all the snow! It is a winter wonderland. Beautiful!
