July

July 3 - Pretty dishes

I felt like setting the table (or island - usually where we eat) with pretty dishes today. The large plates were purchased in a set at the DI, which I got several years ago. The pretty blue salad plates are by Pioneer Woman and were purchased at Walmart.

Fresh vegetables from the garden.... yummm!

July 6 - It's Great to be 8!

Oh... I love this little girl! Audrey and I took Alia shopping for her baptism dress at Dressed In White in Logan a week ago. She picked out a beautiful dress for a beautiful occasion.

Today, we took her to the Ogden Temple and did a photo shoot of her in her dress. It was so much fun! She was easy to photo.

Alia took charge and I just followed. She did fancy poses, serious poses, silly poses, and unsuspecting poses. A surprise around every corner of the beautiful temple grounds!

This girl has my heart! She showed us all how great it is to be 8!

July 7 - New Bench

I was at Shopko today and spotted this really neat metal bench. It was on clearance for $49. Originally $150. I then got it for an additional 15% off because I'm a Senior.... yeah! Then I had a gift card and that brought the price down to $32. Not only did I get a great deal, but it's the perfect bench for Steve's garden. It's comfortable, attractive, and blue!

It was the last bench in the store. You know how it goes... when you get the last item, especially at a great price... everyone wants it. I was the envy of all customers as I proudly carried my bench out the store.

July 9 - Where I live

Another day spent at Tree House Museum. There is a large floor mat of the state of Utah and all the counties. Alia quickly found Box Elder County... the place I call home. Weber County is connected to the south, where her family lives. We are so lucky to have the Tree House Museum in our back yard!

  July 14 - Play day at Grandma's

The Mecham kiddos came up for a play day. Water is the best!

July 25 - Crop dusting

I always enjoy the sound of a small airplane overhead. I look forward to the once-a-year day when the neighboring fields get their crop dusting. It feels like I can almost touch the airplane's wing as it starts to dip over the house.

July 28 - Back to School Fashion Show

Who doesn't love a fashion show! Especially when it's the grandkids. Alia, Ben, and Emily parade their new school clothes. By the looks of this pictures, Ben appears to feel 'closed in'. Too close for comfort! It's so much fun to live close to this little family that is just beginning to grow up. Alia is going into 3rd grade. Ben is starting Kindergarten. Emilee is now old enough to go to Smarty Pants Preschool.

  Steve's Garden

Finally... after waiting all summer, Steve's birdhouse and post was added to his garden. It's still a work in progress but that's the beauty of it. A garden grows out of nurturing and love. I can't wait for next year. I think I want to add a small fountain and some wild flowers. It will be so Steven!

Lily

Lilly's in the yard. They are always a beautiful sight!

Apricots

Our crop of apricots have been outstanding this year. Big, beautiful and abundant!

Mom's serving bowls

Every once in awhile it's fun to serve dinner from mom's bowls. I can remember these sitting on the dinner table every night. Oh... such wonderful memories!

Achievement Days

I can't believe Alia is old enough to go to Achievement Days. Where did the time go! She made these banks out of Duck Tape.
