F.H.E. was on King Benjamin. That is Ben's favorite Book of Mormon prophet! Ben stood up on his tower, with his sisters on either side, giving us counsel on how important it is to keep our eyes on the temple.
The kiddos picked out a favorite picture of a temple and wrote in their family record book how they will keep their eyes on the temple.
May 4 - Shaniel's garden
Ben Lomond Landscaping came up today and put in new plants and wood chips in Shaniel's garden. They installed the statues and I am very happy.
May 5 - Manti Temple
I met Clint at the Manti Temple this morning to do baptisms for our deceased ancestors. The day was beautiful. We felt the spirit of our loved ones and enjoyed a peaceful day at the House of the Lord. I was so happy to see Clint. I am so happy that his conversion is centered in the Lord and that he has a firm testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
After some looking up, we found that Clint's brother, Wayne, has had his temple work done. Is it any wonder that Clint has had nudges pointing him to the gospel over the last ten years! What a blessing it now is that he can help his deceased ancestors on the other side of the veil.
May 7 - Tulip Festival
We ended up going to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point on its last day. And, our luck, the tulips received hail damage from the storm the day before. Many looked sad, but we did manage to get some good pictures. At least the day was cool. Midway through the garden, the rain came pouring down and we had to open the umbrellas and run!
This year we received a nice surprise. We saw a mother goose with a baby tucked up underneath her wing.
The gold fish, with their never ending mouth's bobbing, always begging for food. Oh... we can make fish and birds and other creatures so lazy by throwing food to them. They soon find out that they don't have to work for food.
Audrey's family, Brayden, Makaela, and a friend Nicole, and I made the trip.
One of our favorite spots is at the pond. Audrey and the kids posed for a picture on the bench that Steve, Shaniel, Audrey, Kelsey, and I did a few years back. That place, on that bench, brings happy memories for me.

May 8 - Mother's Day
For Mother's Day I gave my daughters books, on motherhood, to read. One by Wendy Watson Neilson, and the other by Jeffrey and Pat Holland. Both, very inspirational reads.
Chad fixed us Dutch Oven bbq chicken and potatoes. For dessert, we couldn't choose what to have, so we had three of them. Rootbeer floats, cherry cheesecake, and strawberry shortcake.
The nicest part of the day... Chad and Mike did the dishes. The girls and I were on the couch visiting and when we looked over to the kitchen, we caught them in the act. Best gift ever!
May 10 - Puppet Show
Alia's class put on a puppet show today. I love the way Alia decorated her sea turtle. She always memorizes her parts and is very dramatic on her delivery. Her best friend, May, from China is sitting next to her.
May 14 - Soccer
I made it to one soccer game this year. I can't believe the season is over. The kids seemed to enjoy themselves, but both Alia and Ben want to take a break from it next year.
May 19 - In the Pantry
Grandma's pantry is a favorite place to be. There's always a treat to be found. Today, I caught James kneeling on the stop rung of the step stool reaching for some goodies. It was dang cute!
May 20 - Growing up!
Another graduation from pre-school. That is Smarty Pants Preschool! Ben was handsome in his suit and tie and cap with tassels. Grandma is so proud!
May 22 - Sunday Brunch
I gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting today. Audrey and Mike came up and went to church with us and then we had a brunch. Our favorite kind of Sunday early afternoon meal! Complete with scrumptous muffins, strawberry and cream covered wafles, ham, scrambled eggs, and orange juice. It was a very good Sabbath day.
May 24 - First Peony
The first flower, a beautiful large yellow peony, bloomed in Shaniel's garden today. What a sunshiny, beautiful sight! Oh... Shaniel must be so happy to come and visit.
I love the angel bird bath sitting underneath a bush. I keep it filled for the birds to enjoy.
May 29 - Memorial Weekend
Our Memorial weekend was anything but dull! Sunday we went to Logan. Visited Kyler Waters grave and pioneer ancestors graves in Mendon. Charles Bird and grandmother Mary Kennedy Bird on mom's side.
On the way back through the canyon we stopped at Doc's Flat to eat with Kelsey and Chad. Just after we got there, a camping neighbor alerted Chad to a cloud of black smoke rising up not too far down the canyon. Chad took off and found an atv engulfed in flames. The fire department was called and the flames were put out. Luckily, we had had a good amount of rain over the last couple of days and fire had little chance of spreading.
May 30 - Price
Monday, Memorial Day, we went to Price. We had a nice surprise in Wellington. Bill and Alisa were there and we had a nice visit. The roses and live flowers that adorned mom and dad's grave were just beautiful! I always love going to the Wellington City Cemetery. It is beautiful and peaceful any time of the year.
We placed live lavender plants on Shaniel's grave, Cliffview Cemetery, in Price, and Steve's grave at the Cleveland City Cemetery. Although I despise Shaniel's resting spot, it is getting easier to go to. I pretend Scott's grave is not there. In fact, I don't even notice it anymore. He is gone. He is forever gone from my view, never to be seen again. Steven's grave, on the other hand, still holds a lot of emotional pain. It's so hard to believe he is actually gone. Some days I think I should wake up and be able to see him and hear his voice on the other end of the phone line. I miss him dearly. His resting place provides peace for me, which I am thankful for.
We stopped and visited Amie and Clint for a few minutes. They have been working very hard on their yard. Shaniel's garden is growing in nicely. This year Amie was sent a nice surprise... purple daisies mixed in with her white ones. What in the world! I think Shaniel had something to do with this surprise. Another small garden was put in for Steven. I love the beautiful yellow roses. What wonderful places for her brother and sister to visit.
Dave and I had our own surprise on the way home. Traffic that only Hwy 6. could dish out! We came to a complete stop half way through the canyon. Thinking it was an accident, made our wait a little more bearable. Once we inched our way to the top of Billy's Mountain, we saw what was really going on. Holiday traffic. You could see no end to the cars, trucks, trailers, semi's. It was unbelievable! I have never experienced that here, nor did I think I ever would. The only place on earth I have was in Europe, a trip back from Italy to Germany. Never again was I ever going to do that again! And... here, in Utah, on Hwy. 6, we experience the same thing. Who would have ever thought! It took us 3 long hours to get from Price to Spanish Fork.
May 31 - Heber
We ran out of daylight to go to Heber on Memorial Day, so we went today. We visited Dave's parents and brother's graves. Then, combed the cemetery for ancestors Heber Moulton and Emily Jane Carroll. Emily Jane is my great grandmother, on mom's side. I love finding our ancestors graves. It gives me a peaceful sense of connection. I can't wait to meet them!
