May

May 2 - Yard

We spent the day in the yard... pruning, mowing, watering, planting. I was so excited to see some moss growing among the rocks by the waterfall. Starting to feel like we've been here awhile!

The yard was so pretty. Perfectly green lawn. Colorful flowers ready for planting. After all the work was done, Dave and I sat in the chairs soaking in the beauty and relaxing. It was a perfect day in the yard.

May 5 - Poor Boy!

Poor little James had his 4 month check-up today. Shots! Not feeling well.

Audrey's family just moved into their new place. A townhouse with some pretty neat perks. A community with maintenance, swimming pool, and play ground. Getting the mail is quite convenient, even for Alia.

Ben shows his skills as he slides down the pole fireman style!

May 6 - Wild Turkeys

... in my yard! I thought I was hearing things early this morning when I heard "gobble, gobble, gobble." I looked out the bedroom window to see five wild turkeys walking through the orchard. I thought that was very cool.

May 7 - Boys New Room

Audrey and Mike wanted to surprise the kids with new rooms for their new house. Today was the boys day. They were kept out of their rooms until all the furniture and accessories had been purchased. Ben was more than exstatic with his new bean bag chair and bed. Book cases house toys and books. Green and blue fabric bins hold small toys and diapers for James. A car mat sits underneath the bed and makes the perfect hide away for playing.

Rain

There's nothing nicer than the sight, sound, and smell of rain!

May 8 - Stereo

Dave hooked up the old stereo and put some oldies on. I love the stereo. We don't use it much, but it makes me happy to have the stereo from my youth, sit in my bedroom, with the large mirror overhead... just like mom had it. I remember those days long ago, listening to John Denver and other country songs during the summer months. And, the Christmas records of Nat King Cole, Andrew Williams, Perry Como, and so many others filled our home with excitement as we readied the house for the holidays. So many happy memories...

May 9 - Girls Room

Today was the girls' turn to be surprised. I love their room... and so did they! Bunk beds and bookcases, a desk, rugs, and stools. The purple fabric bins are Alia's (her favorite color), and pink for Emilee (her favorite color). The matching rugs and stools make the room complete. The girls were so excited to see their new room.

May 10 - Mother's Day

This year it was just Audrey's family and us. Kelsey's family went on vacation in southern Utah visiting Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon. We missed them, and of course Amie and Steven, but that did not stop us from stuffing our faces with good old fashioned bbq. Burgers, fruit salad, potato salad, and green salad. Brownies for dessert. Simple, but oh so good!

May 12 - Payson Temple Open House

Dave and I went to the Payson Temple Open House this morning. It was a beautiful Spring day. The temple was beautiful beyond description and the Spirit filled the air. I love how big the rooms were in the temple. And the colors... soft hues of blue and green. Just beautiful!

May 14 - Band Concert

Four grandchildren playing in the same band concert... rare! I made the trip down to Emery County and watched Hailie play the clarinet, Morgann and Carson play the trumpet, and Riley on the drums. Carson received an honorable mention for an event he played in. This was a treat for me. I loved watching them play and I certainly love each one of these kiddos! They are so talented!
