April

Mud-luscious and puddle wonderful... that's what April is

April 4

The grandkids and I colored eggs for Easter today.  Love the colors!

April 5

Dave's birthday.  We actually celebrated it on the 6th this year.

7 days before:  purchased Jazz tickets
2 days before:  planned trip using UDOT itinerary

Day of - We boarded the Front Runner in Ogden and traveled up to speeds of 80 miles per hour to Salt Lake City.  We sat in the upper level.  Fun!  We also saw a lot of junk in backyards of houses.  After we arrived in Salt Lake City, we walked a hundred yards and boarded Trax.  From there we went to City Creek Center.  Awesome!  We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, ate cheese cake and walked around the mall for awhile.  An hour or so before game time, we boarded Trax again and got off at the Energy Solutions Arena.

The game was great.  The Jazz won!  I purchased lower bowl tickets so it was even more fun.  The Jazz Bear made his way to our seat, shook Dave's hand and favored me with a close-up face shot!

Game over and it was out the door.  Trax is conveniently located just outside the doors.  We were taken back to the Front Runner and it was back to home we go.  I think Dave's birthday was pretty neat!

April 7

The town of Bothwell knows how to celebrate!  Audrey invited me to her small town's Easter celebration.  It was held at the town's park adjacent to the church house.  First thing in the morning was an Easter Egg Hunt.  Afterwards, baby farm animals, brought by the town's people, were available for the kids to pet and ride.  Bunnies, lambs, goats, dogs, and even a pony to ride.  Alia's favorite thing.... the swings.  Peter Cottontail and his lady friend milled around the park, delivering well-wishes and treats to children. The crowd was small and full of friendly people.  Like you had known them forever!  Lots of room and opportunity to pet the animals.  There's not a better place than Bothwell!  It was a great fun-filled morning!

April 8

Easter Sunday.  At our house.  We served up ham, funeral potatoes, asparagus, cooked carrots, green salad, and wheat rolls.  Yumm!

Easter Egg Hunt.  The grand kids scurried around the yard looking for eggs in rocks, trees, flower beds, even the waterfall.

Easter Egg Roll.  Eggs were rolled, and sometimes tossed, down the grassy hill.  It will be a new tradition at our house, for sure!

Games.  Crochet and ball.  Fun!

In attendance:  Bywaters - Chad, Kelsey, Makaela, Brayden
Mechams - Mike, Audrey, Alia, Ben
                          Grandma & Grandpa Daniels

It was a good day to take pictures of the blossoms and tulips.  Such a pretty time of year!

April 22

I found out a day or two ago that Kelsey has a solid offer on her house.  I'm glad for her family.  They are going to move out farther in the country that has more house, more property.  But... I'm going to miss their big, wonderful, green, park-like back yard.

Today, after church, we all gathered at Kelsey's house for some root-beer floats and fun!

April 25

Sleepover at grandma's.  Alia made beautiful artwork!

April 26

I went to the Bountiful Temple today.  It was such a peaceful and beautiful day!  I felt the spirit in abundance and was so grateful for the opportunity to attend the temple today.  It rejuvenated my  spirit and I felt a strong resolve to do better, learn more, and show more gratitude for all the blessings in my life.

I was in the kitchen putting some things away when I heard a knock on the glass doors leading out to the back deck.  I thought, "that's strange".  I went to the window and to my surprise a squirrel was standing up on its hind legs with his front paws on the window, looking in!  I couldn't believe my eyes.  I had seen him the day before up on the deck running across the chairs, but this was brave!  I ran and grabbed my camera, but he wasn't about to stick around for pictures.  I caught him going down the stairs and soon he was over in the rocks at the waterfall, where he has made himself a home.  I put out a soda cracker and threw him some grapes.  Maybe he will visit me again!

Mike washed my windows today.  He had some little helpers, too!  I love how my windows sparkle!  They look like new again.

It's been an unusually hard month.  It's been six weeks now that I've been fighting a UTI (urinary tract infection).  I've been on three rounds of antibiotics and two injections of antibiotics.  I've had allergic reactions to two antibiotics, and one really, really, bad headache (like I have never had before).  I have a prolapsed bladder and am now awaiting surgery to fix it, and am not looking forward to it.  In fact, I'm quite terrified. A bit of good news, though.  I am finally starting to feel better. The infection has finally cleared up, thanks to doctor Larsen (who took it seriously).
