There's something about getting up at 5:30 in the morning. Everything is quiet, calm, peaceful. The air smells fresh. Watching the sun rise over the tops of the mountains is awe-inspiring. I love the early mornings.
Today, I started the day turning the water from the canal into our ditch. The large round manhole fills quickly up with water, and soon it is spilling out the pipe into our large rectangular irrigation pond. As soon as it fills, I will turn on the pump so each tree and plant gets a continual drip of water on it for the next 3 days. We have lots of bugs to work out on the drip irrigation system. For today, I will cross my fingers that everything will go fine.
