I love spring in northern Utah. Every March and into April, after the fruit tress have been pruned, we rake the branches to the center of the rows and Dave then drags them with the tractor to the garden area. We wait until a great big pile is accumulated, douse the branches with a little gasoline, and poof.... our Bon Fire erupts! I love the smell of burning branches, and I love to drive to the farm from Brigham City. Swirling smoke rises high into the sky from farmers along the fruit way burning their pruned tree branches.
In the top picture, you can see three fires. The biggest one is at the Bear River Bird Refuge. The smaller fires are probably from farmers in the Corrine area. Wouldn't you say we have a spectacular view from the farm!

Nothing better than burning in the spring. I miss the smell sometimes. Rye's best day of his life was burning weeds with Grandpa.
